UK debts after BREXIT
Once the UK leave the EU will UK banks still have a part in EU laws on chasing debts of those that now live abroad. Yes I should pay my UK debt but at 19% APR on a both credit card and overdraft it is impossible due to a reduction in income. I have been an ex-pat for 18 years.

CCA - Stopping payments?
Hi I sent CCA requests to 3 of my creditors on 07/05/19. So far I have heard from 2 saying they are having to contact the original lender and will be back in touch. I have yet to have a response from the 3rd although I know the letter has been signed for (no idea if the postal order has been cashed as can’t see how to…

Hello all first time poster just after some legal advice Was issued a CCJ last year by Lowell for a Provident debt (approx £1,450). It went to court last November and was adjourned as the court had made an admin error by not entering the date my defence had to be submitted on the papers. It was adjourned until Jan 2019 and…

CCJ advice
Ok my parents have avoided a CJJ for a while now. It’s approx £9,200. I got the ref number for them last night and it’s now time to sort it out. What’s the best way to start this process? Some of the debts I believe are over 5 years old. My mum has said she has a friend who pays a set fee each month and after 5 years if…

So, that light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter every day. 4 payments left to our DAS and we will be officially done. I've been googling how to repair our credit file after DAS but there isn't a massive amount of info about the scheme. I believe we will be removed from the DAS register which means it will no…

Full vs Partial Payment of Debts
Hi, I'm on a debt management plans with debts currently around £23,000. However, I have come into a significant amount of money which means I can pay it off. Should I just pay it off in full or can I still negotiate with my creditors to get a reduced payment. If I do the latter, will this affect my credit rating if I want…

Does a CCA need a signature?
An old Capital One card defaulted on 3 years ago doesn’t have my signature on it, just my name in block capitals. Is this still enforceable?

I noticed a couple of months ago I was paying two direct debits to Vodafone, one for about £36, which was correct, and another for £9 - for what I do not know. I couldn't get any answer from Vodafone so I just cancelled the £9 direct debit. I have today received a call from Zinc Company saying I owed £29.97 to Vodafone and…

I had, and defaulted on two Aqua credit cards, and made a claim for irresponsible lending. They have upheld my complaint, and are refunding £502 in interest and removing the default from my account :)

What small DFW things will you do w/c 10th June?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

She had no property, no valuables, only cash assets worth around £5,000. Out of this £3,500 went on funeral costs, and £750 are overpayments by housing benefit and her local…
