LBA received

Hi,

I have received a Notice of Pending Legal Action from Lowell Solicitors , can I ignore this letter or is it a formal notice that will lead to a CCJ without them making any further contact?

Hi Barrybobble and welcome to the forum :)

Does the Notice include a questionnaire? Could it be a Letter Before Action (please see link below).

Edit: In fact, I am pretty sure it is an LBA. I *think* you MUST respond within 30 days. I recommend phoning StepChange or National Debtline first thing tomorrow morning as you do not want to ignore. :)

  • Hi thanks for your prompt reply and welcome :) Yes it is set out like the letter suggested in your link. What will will stepchange or national debt line advise? Do you think I might be able to get a reduce settlement or is it too late for that?

One of the several options is to pay in full or by instalments.

But do you have knowledge of the debt?

Do you believe the debt to be yours?

If you believe the debt is yours, when was the last time you acknowledged the debt or made a payment to the account?
