CCJ - Month Old & Only Just Found It

Hi all

I checked my credit file this morning and I have a CCJ dated the 9th May. I only discovered it this morning; I'm not sure what the CCJ is for, but...

It's for just over £5,000 and I have zero ideas about what it's for. I checked all my accounts (credit accounts like credit cards and loans etc) and I haven't missed a payment anywhere.

Anyway, the address on the CCJ/on my credit file seems to be around 3 years old. I'm so confused.

I've tried to ring the 'County Court Business Centre' several times and either get cut off or the waiting time is extortionate.

I have emailed them today but it says it could take 5-10 working days for a response.

Can I please ask:

1. What my options are?
2. How long until they can get an Attachment of Earnings order etc?
3. Given I've received no correspondence about this/nor have I had anything from a creditor saying a default etc; it seems absurd?

Are you sure there wasn't an old parking ticket, water or utility bill outstanding at the old address? If you really know nothing about the CCJ account, then if it were me, I would contact the creditor that issued the CCJ with a SAR, to determine what the account is about...
