Firstly let me just give you some background information. I am a student and I live in my fathers house. Now, he pays for most of the bills that come out of running the house and I chip in where necessary. I have had a phone contract with o2 for roughly 6-7 years that is in the name of my father, but I pay for it. It's in…

Barclaycard not defaulting
I have been in a self administered debt management plan since last July paying £1 /month token payments to all my creditors. Most of my creditors defaulted me between Sept 2010 and Jan 2011 ( which it understandable and i accept this). However Barclaycard are refusing to put a default on my file and instead continue to…

I did a search for this but couldn't see anything similar so I apologise if this has been talked about before. I left uni in 2009 with an overdraft of £1500 and credit card of £300. I am now in a full-time job (though not a job with a graduate salary) but I appreciate that this is a better situation than most. I am…

Tuesday 5th April - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Getting credit report vs limitations act
Hello, I hope someone here can advise me :) I had a 1600 interest free overdraft with a Natwest student account. To the best of my knowledge, the account was last used about 5.5 years ago. I don't recall making a payment, or acknowledging the debt in writing since that time. Presumably interest is now running on the debt…
