Hi there, I would like to ask if this letter is ok to send to one of my debtors, its Moorcroft and the debt is for £570
Dear Sir/Madam
Without Prejudice
Account No: XXXXXXXXXXXXX
I write with reference to the money which you are claiming on the above account.
I can confirm that I am unable to offer to pay the money which I owe in full. However, I can raise £200.00 from a family member and I want to offer this as an ex-gratia payment in full and final settlement of the account. This offer is made on the clear understanding that, if accepted, neither you nor any associate company will take any other action to enforce or pursue this debt in any way whatsoever and that I will be released from any liability.
I also request that, if accepted, you will make an entry on a credit reference agency file relating to the above account as having been paid and the account closed.
Payment can be made within 2 weeks of receiving your written agreement of this offer and method of payment.
As I have other debts, I can only make this offer available to you for 2 weeks, so if I do not hear from you before the 19th April I will offer the £200 to one of my other creditors.
I look forward to receiving your reply.
Yours faithfully
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Hello, Im in no position to offer you advice on the context of the letter, but I have had dealings with Moorcroft in the past and they seem as reasonable as a debt collectors can be.
Good luck[STRIKE]BARCLAYCARD:£502.59 CABOT:£253.92 KC:£115.65 CITY COUNCIL:£212.62 WELCOME FINANCE:£1500 (EST)[/STRIKE]0 -
Yes it's OK0

If it is sent to MoronCroft, shouldn't the salutation be "Dear Sir or Madman"?0

2 weeks is a little on the short side to send the letter, give them time to consider the offer and send response to you (they do not use recorded 1st class, standard for DCAs is 2nd class post)0

Brill, thanks for the replies, I don't think they will accept the offer but fingers crossed anyway!0
