When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :D

Morning everyone - hope I'm the only one starting the thread today...I did dither over whether to or not, didn't want that confusion again!:rotfl:
Hope all ok and feeling full of Spring bounces...even if the weather is a bit pants today;)

Must get a move on, still got no make up on and wet hair:eek:
List:
  • check banking
  • check onepoll
  • packed lunch for dd2
  • lunch at home for me
  • free cuppas at work
  • meal from plan tonight - roast chicken
  • put petrol in car - just £10 worth as not a cheap petrol station
  • NSD apart from petrol
  • quick hoover through house
Ok, cant think of any more...must get ready:T
Have a good day:)
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Morning all!

I too missed yesterday's thread due to a really busy day at work! Loads to do today so here goes:-

    - Check banking
    - £30 fuel in car, get clubcard points
    - Register DB3 with council tax as he is now a permanent resident
    - Check around for home insurance quotes
    - Check and update spreadsheet
    - See if BC statement is in
    - Look around for deals on turf for garden
    - Seperate DB3's dad's stuff from ours in decking quote so I know what costs I'm in for!
    - Do some surveys, been neglecting this recently
    - Try to work out how much money I've spent on fuel recently...
    - Sparkle!

Morning all! Can't get started today; just the thought of going into work really. I ended up in tears by 10.00 yesterday. Nothing specific, just the fact I was there and wanted to be at home in my sewing room doing what I want to do. Ah well, today's a new day......

    So far I have:
    • checked banking - surprisingly healthy! :D
    • checked for surveys
    • made packed lunch for work
    • fed and watered the chickens
    • boxed half a dozen eggs to sell
    I will also:
    • charge mobile at work
    • free drinks at work
    • do a half hour walk at lunchtime
    • read for the other half hour
    • dinner at DDs house
    • have an NSD
    • possibly an extra payment to a CC
    • try to get through the day and *sparkle* a little bit
I won't be around tomorrow as it's my 'Grandma Day' so I'll catch up with you all on Thursday.

I'm on hols for the next 2 weeks with nothing much planned so an easy going kind of day today.

    My little list....
    • Walk dog lots for free exercise
    • Did a sneaky weigh in this morning before fat club WI tonight - think I've lost 1lb
    • Go to SW fat club tonight at 5pm
    • Maybe do one set of marking to get it out of the way
    • Have a look online for a new frock but not order yet until payday (have a christening coming up in May)
    • Put dry washing away
    • Teeny bit of ironing
    • Have a look for pashmina for mum on ebay - she loved the one I got her as part of her mothers day pressie and wants another one
    • Tidy kitchen
    • Checked banks - no surprises
    • Make a big pot of 5 bean chilli for tea for the next day or two
That's all for today so far - have a good day.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Good morning, all!!

Well I am super perky and up for it today, despite the grey and wet weather. I cut off my waist length hair yesterday and I love the new, shorter cut. I put a picture on facebook and my friends seem to like it, so I expect to get a reaction at work!

Now, need to stop looking at NYC property ads **sigh** and get on with my day. Need to keep reminding myself that a deposit is at least 4 years or so away. Its good to daydream, though...

    Anyway, in DFW world today:
    • walk to work
    • lunch from home - will have to see whats in the freezer
    • dinner from stores - teaching OH to make fritatta
    • gym after work
    • crochet in evening - need to get these gifts finished!
    • get contract out of HR (like getting blood out of a stone!!)
    • call up tax advice man and submit forms
    • find out about when I get my relocation allowance
    • have a look around tonight to see if I can find last years P60, if not I'll need to ask payroll to print it off for me if they can
    • free cuppas at work
    • news online and TV on iplayer
    Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
:DDebt free as of 1 October, 2010:D
