My boyfriend is on a debt management plan with CCCS and most of them are fine - however, this morning he received a CCJ application from hfC. (this is exactly why he didn't want to go on a dmp in the first place and why he wanted us to just continue trying to pay the minimum payments for all his debts - which was…

Should banks do More to stop you getting into Debt?
Do you think your bank could have done more to guide you away from falling into debt and the charges? If so what do you think should have been done? It seems banks are quick to claim money off you but very few help you if you look like you will go into debt or as you go into debt!!! What do you reckon should be done in an…

Cards that won't let you transfer the balance on them
I hope I'm in the right thread for this. I've been paying off my Argos store card for years, it's 27.9 APR and having looked at this site I applied for, and got, a barclaycard with a 0% balance transfer offer. I tried to transfer the balance of my Argos card and was told that Argos won't do this. Is this legal? What's the…

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Has anyone sent complaints to the FOS, Trading Standards and OFT??
This my sound silly but what do you actually send them. I assume a covering letter detailing the greivances you have but do you also send copies of letters from creditors. I will be sending complaints regarding 1st Credit Ltd. I'm sure i won't be the first(or last). Thanks.

Newbie would like to say Hi!
Hello everyone I have been an avid visitor to the DFW boards for over a year now, but always preferred to keep a low profile. However, I am finding the burden of being in debt too much to cope with at the moment and so I thought it would help me maybe if I could receive the advice and support of others through this forum.…
