Hiya I have a few. I want to be debt free so I can:

    - Give my children a better life
    - buy a house of my own
    - go to uni and train to be a midwife
    - have more children

I want to be debt free by this time next year, start uni 2010, qualify, work for a year, have another baby...

it's all planned out in my head - not sure whether it will all go to plan but it's good to have some goals!

    Great thread!

Plus get my own flat, either rented or owned. That's for now anyway. :)

    What a great idea...
    My goals are:
(1)To pay off Virgin before july 2009 as that's when the interest kicks in
(2)To pay off A+L before Aug 2009 as that's when the interest kicks in
    (3) I then have to decide whether to save and pay my loans off early or let them run and pay as much as possible off the mortgage.
ULTIMATE GOAL to be debt and mortgage free by end of 2012.
  • I aim to be rid of my last remaining credit card (or at least have enought to cover it but not pay until 0% runs out so I can get a bit more interest on it) by end May 2009

Then I want to be sub £10k by Xmas 2009 (that is a fairly safe goal - if I push it a bit harder then maybe by October next year)

I REALLY want to be debt free by April 2010 at the LATEST

Then I am going to celebrate with my first debt free paycheck in an utterly frivolous way before I start the long hard slog of saving

I don't have any big 'this is what I will do after I am free' goals but I do now have a healthy respect for money and understand the value of what I earn so I will NEVER let myself be in this situation again.

PS great thread by the way

    Hi

    What a great thread!

I want my debt to be under £15K before 1/1/09 and debt free before the end of 2009.

I then want to save £10k for home improvements (DFW style!)
