Mercers Took Money From Debit Card W/out Permission!!!!

Can someone give me some advice, I was contacted by that scum mercers debt collection a few months back and told to make a payment. I forgot how much I paid at the time and I provided my debit card details so that they could take payment. I never signed anything which agrees what my monthly payment will be. It was all over the phone. I looked at my bank statement today and they have taken £45 without telling me or anything and I do not ever remember making a £45 payment deal. I have a goldfish/stand morgan and barclaycard with barclays. But neitherless do they have any right to take out this money?

Which iswhy you should never give your account details to a DCA!

You ned to speak to the bank and find out if you can block further payments or if you need to cancel the card and get a new one.

TMO - I would get on the phone to Mercers and complain, even if you say that it was your last £45 quid til the end of the month or something and you are now skint (and have no food, etc) see what they say, they can't take money from an account unless asked beforehand or if when you made the payment the first time, they may have said you wanted to do it every month.
I very much dislike Mercers so give them a right earful from me too lol!!!
