Mobile Phone Dilema.
My mobile is up for renewal. I am on a contract with 02, currently at 25 quid a month. I have decided instead of going through O2 again, to go through a quidco deal, but can't decide which would be best for us. Option 1 - 12 free months, free phone, free cross network minutes and texts and 5 cash back from quidco. This…

Newbie enthusiasm
Since becoming a DFW I seem to have loads of enthusiasm to clear my debt. It was Hubby's b'day yesterday and I spent £13.50 on a couple of tops for him. The wrapping paper is plain silver so can be used for christmas and other birthdays. I cooked a meal in last night, was going to do a lobster tail recipe until I found out…

Sayara Beg - the silly beggars back!
The BBC website seems to want to tout this womans so called debt problems as typical! She admitts to being asset rich but cash poor and owns a BTL porfolio. I don't see much of that here? What I do see is people with genuine debt problems trying to sort them out, for which you can only be commended! I urge you to complain…

DCA/Metropolitan question
Hello, my debt is looking to be going over to Metropolitan DCA. My one question is, I am in a job where I can earn fairly good commission £100-£200/month. However, with the nature of commission this can be quite different amounts month to month. With a DCA can you pay extra on top of your agreed payment, like a credit…

Any idea where I can clarify this, please
I have just read a post where it says that a DCA can not chase a debt, which is in dispute, until that dispute has been resolved. Poster appeared to be unsure if this was law or guidance. I have received DCA letter for a debt which I am disputing with creditor and any advice will be well appreciated. Thanks.

Short term into manageable long term debt
I've recently bought a house borrowing £96,500 at 113% of the value (£85,000) at fixed rate of 5.99% for 5 years with Northern Rock. I've since renovated the house and its value is now £105,000. I have £16,000 of debt at 0% across 2 credit cards and 3 overdrafts and I'm not going to be able to keep this at 0% for very much…

Has anyone heard or dealt with The Money Club (https://www.themoneyclub.co.uk) ? They contacted me last night offering up to 50% of the items of goods and various deals on holidays, insurance etc. All this for a £79 admin fee and £98 per year. The idea is that you call them when you want to purchase a particular item and…

Chess Partner Wanted
Still living the debt free lifestyle, and since I'm also on my booze-free odyssey I'm looking for things to do rather than go out on the lash each evening. So I've kicked off my learning french course, and I thought I would start playing chess again...been about 25 years since I played (and even then I was pretty rubbish)…

Extra money for you or every penny on debts?
Every month I pay £700 on bills including groceries, and pay £250 towards my debts. This leaves me £100 left of my monthly wage for 'me'. This £100 includes any social spend, clothes, health and beauty products, and any other 'treats' such as magazines, books and chocolate, etc. I am caught up in two feelings about this…

Hi - I'm quite new round here so I don't know if anyone has ever posted a similar idea to this one, but I thought I'd share with you all something me and my family have been doing for the last few years to cut costs at Christmas. We all agreed a set figure of £10 per xmas present. The only rule is that you must spend…
