PPI cancellation
I've a question regarding PPI on loans and credit cards. If my loan and credit cards are all in my sole name, on my death, would anyone else have to pay my debts? Also if I was unable to work, would they only chase me for this or would they try and take money from my Husband? We have no joint accounts or mortgage at all.…

Couples and individual finances.
One thing I've noticed on this board is how many long term couples and married people keep their finances completely seperate with one person being absolutely up to their eyeballs in debt and suffering much torment whilst the other has more than enough money. Usually the accrued debts are from the person in trouble trying…

The 'Happy Friday' Dance!
I rang up Egg at 8.20am this morning (and got straight through more's the miracle, without even one ringing dial) and closed my Egg Card. I was just waiting to pay it off from a balance transfer from another card. So it is gone! Hurrah! And getting a semi-free night out tonight from work, for 'team-building' (so…

We had a premier privelege account with the co op. Then things went down hill financially. Anyhoo, this privelege premier account gave us a 'free' £260 overdraft. I thought I had cancelled all Direct Debits (I am sure I did) but was too late for one which I didn't notice and couldn't afford to pay back, this took us over…

Dealt a bad blow and now my family suffer
Hello, I am a 38 year old father of one who has recently realised just my money situation is out of control. I apologise for the dramatic title but I believe in being honest! Before I outline my debts, may I firstly explain how I managed to get myself into this predicament. Ten years ago, rather than file for bankrupsy, I…

OH has finally woken up and smelt the coffee!
Sat down with OH today to go through my (almost complete) SOA. It came as a little bit of a shock to him as it is pretty scary  .... though I have never hidden from him the state of my finances, in fact I have spelled it out on more than one occasion, but hey ho! I think the fact that I had it all written down -…
