Thanks Barclaycard?!

I had a few credit cards lying around, which I no longer use and have clear balances, so I decided to cancel them for the sake of security and to get rid of some paperwork.
When I told Barclaycard I wanted to close my account they referred me to Customer Loyalty. Who promptly offered to take my balance of £4850 from another card at 0% till Jan 07, AND, more importantly, waived the transfer fee, which would have been £123 apparently. As that interest free period was about to end, and I was about to start looking for a new card, I feel as though I have saved £123.
Maybe it is worth hanging on to the old cards and occasionally seeing what they can offer, for those of us who are still moving our debts from place to place.

yeah but what does the interest rate go up to in January and will you have it paid off by then? Barclaycard have one of the highest interest rates out there so you may have to get another card to avoid one of their high rates........?"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

Oh yes, once my interest free period is up I'm off! But at least I got 5 more months interest free and can try and throw as much as I can at it... here's hoping anyway:rolleyes:0
