OH has finally woken up and smelt the coffee!

Sat down with OH today to go through my (almost complete) SOA. It came as a little bit of a shock to him as it is pretty scary  .... though I have never hidden from him the state of my finances, in fact I have spelled it out on more than one occasion, but hey ho! I think the fact that I had it all written down - monthly income and outgoings, how much debt etc etc - finally got the message home. After months and months of nagging and grinding my teeth every time he spent money he has finally realised that the spending has got to stop! He has even volunteered some savings he can make - :j

Don't get me wrong he is wonderful :A and contributes whatever he can to the family finances but his unfailing optimism about our situation has been a bit annoying! To paraphrase a saying: he who can smile in the face of adversity...doesn't fully grasp the seriousness of the situation!:rotfl:

Anyway the good news is...we are now in this together rather than it being me trying to deal with the situation and trying to persuade him to play ball!!!

SOA needs a couple more bits of info and then I shall be posting it within the next day or 2. I have a few ideas of things I can change but I definitely need as much advice as I can get!!!

That's great news, my OH is on board with our debt busting and although we both go through wobbly moments (regularly) we help keep each other on the straight and narrow!
Look forward to seeing your SOA so we can all help you with it
