Debt collector adding default to credit file
Hi All, I have been in a debt management plan for many years now and its finally coming close to ending so I decided to look at my credit report and figure out how to get back on track. It seems one of my creditors closed my accounts and passed it to a debt collection agency which is usual in itself but the debt collection…

Fraudulent IVA how to get it cancelled
Long story short my mum was married and he racked up 100k plus of debt on another family in secret. Some debts he signed up for in joint names without my mam knowing. Even signing for her or the classic case of husband handing over piece of paper and demanding he signs it which according to the barrister in the divorce is…

Credit Card Confusion
I've posted a few messages about the forum regarding my financial situation and one thing I keep reiterating is that I no longer wish to have credit. However, I realised a few months ago that I would benefit from having a credit card. I was constantly receiving offers through the post so applied for an Aqua card. I got…

card/loan eligibility calculators
I've tried the card and loan eligibility calcs on this page, and now have an alert from equifax with a whole bunch of searches from capital one and barclaycard on my credit file. Of course, these may only be visible to me, BUT there appears to be NO WAY to distinguish them from an ordinary search - Equifax aren't nbeing…

Defaulted accounts now 6 years on
Hi, I defaulted on a number of credit card accounts around 6 years ago. I have been paying a minimal agreed amount each and every month arranged by the CAB at the time. 3 accounts have run the 6 year period and although I understand I still owe the money, they shouldn't show on my credit rating, (I understand). 2 more…

Do 'partially settled' accounts improve credit file?
Just curious but i was able to partially settle a few accounts following agreed full and final settlements recently. These obviously will be noted as such on my credit file but does that make any real positive difference to my file? Or will that even have a more negative impact? Thanks

MSE Credit Club beta web design problem
Whilst trying to join MSE Credit Club I found a problem editing my address! Plusnet searched my credit file 8 times on one day when I purchased a £5pm contract
Does it matter than when I purchased a £5pm 30 day rolling contract from plusnet (a second one, I already had one with them) they did 8 credit checks on the same day according to Experian? Can I do anything to have the extra searches removed? Edit: I am kind of suspicious, I telephoned plusnet CS to get the second line and…
