Hi all, I was defaulted in 2009 for an unpaid debt on a credit card. To date the account remains unsettled. Settled account on my credit file.
I had a credit card with Monument which I opened in 2003. There was a rate jack in 2005 which subsequently led me to close the account. The card when closed had a balance on it which would be eventually brought down, charged at the old APR. I continued to pay down the minimum payments without fail and never late for the…

Defaults on two accounts on my file - what can I do?
I had major problems in late 2010 and early 2011. One of the outcomes of this was losing my grip on my finances and ultimately defaulting on two accounts - a credit card and a loan. I am now in a better place, on a firmer financial footing and have paid off most of my debts. The outstanding debt is on the two default…

Unauthorised Searches From Comparison Sites
I've just noticed I've got 5 new searches on my file. I've called the insurance companies and they said it was through a comparison site but couldn't tell me which one and said there's nothing they can do. I haven't been anywhere near these sites and I certainly do not need insurance. I'm assuming this is due to me looking…

The credit file shows a D each month since the time the account went into default but is at least 10 months away from being repaid, in full. Does the 6 years start ticking from the month of default or from the time of full repayment? Many thanks
