Hi all.

I have been keeping a eye on my credit report for sometime now.
There is 2 red marks on my credit file both from power companies for unpaid bills.
I live in Scotland, both bills were for my house here.
my question is this..i understand that in scotland a debt is cleared of your report after 5 years.is this correct?.
and if so i how do i get it takin off?
i phoned experian and they told me they keep it for 6 years even though the rule in scotland is 5 years..someone please help
thank you

No, it is 6 years from default in Scotland as well.
The 5 years you are thinking of is the legal time limit for a creditor to take legal action in some cases. That has nothing to do with how long things remain on credit reports.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
