Unauthorised Searches From Comparison Sites

I've just noticed I've got 5 new searches on my file. I've called the insurance companies and they said it was through a comparison site but couldn't tell me which one and said there's nothing they can do. I haven't been anywhere near these sites and I certainly do not need insurance. I'm assuming this is due to me looking for house or car insurance this time last year. But this still doesn't give them permission to keep searching.

It will be a soft search not a credit search.
What t&cs did you agree to when you signed up originally for the search?0 -
