Account activity on credit card
I have read that credit card accounts may be closed or their limits reduced if they are inactive over a period of time (6-12 months). What constitutes activity? Is it any activity on the account (only payments against a balance transfer, for example) or are regular purchases/further transfers required? Also, I had a…

Do you consider credit card design when applying?
With all the posts on another thread regarding what the new Aqua Gold card looks like. How many of you consider the credit card design before deciding to make an application? When I apply I just look at the benefits on offer. The colour or design of the credit card is of no interest to me. Am I unusual in not caring what…

Using a 0% purchases card to pay off vehicle loan
I'm pretty terrible with this stuff so please bear with me. I've recently purchased a vehicle using HP, and got a decent rate. On further research I realise I should probably have got a 0% credit card and it would have been cheaper. My HP agreement allows me to pay off the full balance for no charge, if I have the money.…

Tesco Credit Card Question.
Hi, am looking for a new reward credit card and have a question about this one....am I right in assuming that to earn a clubcard point on purchases outside Tesco it means I only earn a point for each transaction (individual) that is over £8 and it doesn't mean that if I buy something in a shop for £3 and then something in…

Hi, I have two credit cards with Nil balance. I got them for the 0% interest a number of years ago and used them to pay off my debts which I did 2 years ago but they are still open. Do I close them? Missed credit card payment - effect on credit rating
Hi I signed up for one of these Debenhams store cards to get 20% off some Christmas shopping in December. Received the bill and paid it in full before the due date. However, it appears that I entered the wrong reference number and the payment was bounced (I didn't notice the bounced payment). Spoke to their collection…

Offered credit increase
First let me explain, NB not a boast, that I have always paid my credit cards (ever since my first at age 19) in full every month, and have therefore never paid a penny interest. I use them as "debit cards" i.e. only spend what I have and use them for very short-term advances and primarily the perks, cashback, airmails etc…

Credit card cash transfer
I have a question if you don't mind. I have a credit card with a high limit, they are offering me a cash transfer for 1.2% so my question is should I take the money out and put it into a 3-5% saving account then pay bank at the end with me keeping the interest?? Just don't know if I'm missing something. Thanks Andy.

Credit Card Eligibility Checker
I have an interest free credit card which runs out in March with a £5.7k balance, I did the credit card eligibility checker and got a few which I am 100% eligible for. Barclaycard Application Referred...
Applied for my first Barclaycard today, and it's been referred. Was just wondering if anyone had an idea of whether it's likely to go through? I'm 21, have a phone contract in my name and have had interest free credit before for £1000 which was cleared about a year ago. I checked my credit score on a Experian which was 993…

Credit Utilisation/Limit ratio question
Hi all, I had a search but couldn't find a specific answer amongst all the threads for the particular query. I understand that your indebtedness and amount of credit you are using in relation to the amount of credit available is a significant factor in how you are viewed by lenders. However, is this viewed on an account to…

Now she is retired, she is trying to pay off the balance using only the govt pension she receives (she has no savings or any other income) but is racking up interest charges every month. She can only…
