Existing debts when applying for credit card
Obviously when you apply for a credit card the credit card issuer considers your existing debts. My question is - do they consider different debts, differently? For example - will my mortgage and secured loan impact on my credit check or do they mainly concentrate on only unsecured commitments? Thanks!

Coming off debt plan (credit score?)
About 3 years ago, I entered into a debt management plan with a third-party company for 2x accounts with Barclaycard, and 1x Amex. Total debt was ~£18k. I then left the country, and was gone for about 3 years. Every month since (with a couple of instances where the management company didn't forward funds on time), I've…

Does anyone know of any UK credit cards that are available for Jersey residents? Credit card number illicitly used - query
When a credit card transaction is declined (due to illicit use of the card number by persons unknown), shouldn't the bank responsible contact the owner of the card to inform that person that someone has been trying to use their card number? Paying off CCs / company reducing limit
I have credit cards with Capital One (2 x £500), Barclays (£750) and Natwest (£1500). Two years ago, I paid off £250 on my Barclaycard, and they immediately reduced my limit from £1000 to £750. Is there such a thing as a "first time credit card"
My husband is 27 and never had any credit at all. I've been begging him for 6 of the 7 years we've been together to start building a credit history but he wouldn't because he "doesn't believe in it". However, despite savings and a decent income we got declined for a mortgage, partly due to him not having a credit history.…
