Advice on which credit card for university?
Hi, I would like to take out a credit card before I go to university because I have very little in the way of family support and will be pretty much independent of any financial help come september. I'd like to know if the barclaycard simplicity would be a viable option because of its now APR (barclay card platinum…

Credit Reference Agencies
I have recently closed a few credit card accounts (over the past year). When I look at my credit report it shows them as settled, along with a date, but is does not seem to indicate that the accounts are closed. Does anyone know how the companies searching my records know that the account is closed rather than just a zero…

Minimum payments (or just over?)
Sorry if this question has been answered before, I did a search and couldn't find anything. I am under the impression it is generally not good for your credit report to pay only the minimum on your cards each month. I believe you get points for paying more than the minimum, if you can't afford to (or don't want to) pay off…

One card was last updated on the 8th May and I was wondering if there is any way of correcting this? Reason being is that we want to get a mortgage quite soonish…

Closing my first bank account
Just wondering, when I fill in application forms (credit cards, etc..) it usually asks for the bank and how long I've been with them does it matter whether I've been with a bank 6+ years, or just 2? I don't want to have loads of bank accounts open, but should I leave this one with nothing going in/out? I mean they (HSBC)…

Please Help me - Student Credit Card
Hi there, I am beside myself with worry about this credit card which, in my opinion, was irresponsibly lent to me when I was 19 and didn't have a clue. I have had it for four years now. The limit was £500 (blown in two months!) and it has caused me so much grief that I couldn't even explain! I have incurred about £400…

Will Next Directory remove late payments - goodwill letter?
I have sent Next a goodwill letter to ask them to remove my late payments with them (x2 late). Has anyone had any success with next even replying to a goodwill letter, let alone removing the black marks on my credit? I understand that it's not expected of them, nor do they need to reply. Just worth a try! Thanks in advance
