Applying for a loan and CC at the same time
Hi all, Just want to double check the best procedure for this. In February I'm aiming to get a loan of around £3000 - £4000 and an 0% on purchases card. I'll be needing both at the same time (loan to assist with car puchase, CC to pay for insurance (and pay it off interest free over 12 months)). Is it best to apply for…

creditcardkiller.co.uk
Does anyone have any experience of these people ? I'm not planning on using them, but I understand that they somehow 'buy' debts off people. As someone who works in banking and deals with credit card debt all the time, I know for a fact that you cannot sell a debt unless the bank the money is owed to consents (which it's…

Requesting a settlement amount from a card company
My father recently took over sorting out my half-brother's finances while he was "indisposed", and discovered that if you call a card company and say that the card holder is having debt problems and wants a final settlement amount to clear the card, they will knock up to 25% off the total as long as it's paid off in one…

Protection: have terms changed
I recently bought a fridge for my mum using my Mastercard, thinking that if something was wrong, we'd be covered. Well, the fridge didn't work, we reported it immediately, the engineer noted the high temperature but neither he nor a second engineer could determine the cause or repair it. Both thought that we should ignore…

Charge Card
Apart from Amex does anybody do a charge card at the moment ? Having to settle the balance at the end of each month might help me keep my spending under control better than a CC. I suppose that they all charge a fee for the card otherwise they can't make money ? Just looking at options for next year at the moment Thanks

Savings Account
Up until last Friday I had an EasyCash account with Halifax. On Friday I applied for a current account and was accepted. Obviously they did a credit check for this service. Last night I also applied for an online savings account with them, and was accepted, but would a 'full' credit check have taken place? Thanks

I purchase high value items, such as washing machines, computers, etc on my credit cards. One such card being my soon to be discontinued Shell Citi Card. CC Arrangements - Payment reviews?
Hello, Hopefully someone here can help me with a particular DCA I am having issues with. I buried my head in the sand for far too long with some old debt, which ended up mounting to over £18,000. They were split between 3 credit cards. At the start of the year I made a commitment to paying this off, owning up to the fact…

Chargeback or Section 75?
Last November I accompanied my hubby to NY for a work trip. All was pretty much fine until we returned home and noticed that the hotel charged our Nationwide (VISA) card for 4 nights instead of the 3 we should have paid. We contacted Nationwide right away, and they told us to contact the hotel directly and ask them to put…
