Savings Account

Up until last Friday I had an EasyCash account with Halifax. On Friday I applied for a current account and was accepted. Obviously they did a credit check for this service. Last night I also applied for an online savings account with them, and was accepted, but would a 'full' credit check have taken place?

Thanks

No, there would be no credit check at all. I have several savings accounts with HBOS and they didn't search me when I applied.

Savings accounts do not have any type of credit facility so there would be no need for a credit check.

Brilliants mate, I just thought due to anti money laundering etc, they might dip into your account, and not sure if this would have shown as a 'search' or not

Thanks for the quick reply :T

Any searches for identity or money laundering wouldn't affect your credit score in the slightest and won't be seen by other lenders. They may very well run these types of searches but I've never had anything like that from HBOS when I opened my accounts.

Perhaps they only do these checks for new customers.
