I know this has been mentioned before but think it was some time ago, I started with a £300 credit limit, then it went up to £900.
Got my last statement and it has dropped down to £300 again.

So rang customer services, she said sometimes if you don't use the account much, it can go down. Anyway, she then put me through to their credit team for more details. This person said, every month we get a score from a credit ref agency and that can determine your limit:eek: So still not 100% really on the understanding, she also said not to worry as there is no searches left on your files.............

Just received 2 'Spring' catalogues today, so see what the next statement comes in at.

They get a monthly feed from Equifax I believe and your limit is adjusted accordingly. They lowered my limit to just above my balance so I paid it off in full. I resent having to pay interest when you cannot shop.

Thanks cif, this monthly feed is it to confirm your other accounts are up to date? Just wondering what they receive?

It basically tells them how you are coping with your other credit obligations and what your available credit is

Ahh that has made it clearer, on my Experian it says I'm using 23% of my limit, although not fully up to date, it should be lower!

That's what they did to me. They can now nick off as far as I'm concerned

Yep, Next did this to me.

Opened account, never been in bad order. Started £300, then moved to £900, sent store card, then suddenly reduced to nothing!!!!

I wrote to Chief Exec and got the "oh well we check other stuff" I think this is disgusting. It should be my relationship with THEM that counts, not whether or not I am in dispute with someone else!

Glad someone else has picked up on this!

  • I only use Next occasionally and always clear the balance every month but they've continually upped my limit and I now have a credit limit of £9500.
I never intend to use any of it.
I've been a customer for about 10 years so there records must show this.
I hate their customer services they always seem to have problems sorting stuff out.
