From their perspective they are just safeguarding themselves.

Although you may have a perfect history with them, if you are starting to have issues with other credit providers it will almost always spill over to other creditors.

So they are just making sure it doesn't happen.
Can understand your point but in my case every account I have is up to date, regular increases and nowhere near maxed out on anything so reducing my limit to a paltry £107 doesn't give me any confidence to shop in the future with them. Will keep the account open for 6 months and if no improvement it will be closed.

Being honest I would be happy at £250 as don't really need it but would buy now and again when something takes my fancy. Just really annoyed that all of my other limits are pretty reasonable and they reduce my initial limit for no reason. Paid my first statement immediately on receipt, paid this months today so see what happens in January. Looking at my current payment profile I would lend myself money :rotfl::rotfl:

That is really odd. Could it be that you have increasing credit available so they are reducing theirs to make sure you don't have the option to suddenly use it all??

Next are a pain in the a*se..
Opened my account end of Oct, limit £250 so ordered £120 worth of goods. Statement arrived 10th Nov, Limit £300, paid a payment the same day leaving balance of £80.
Spent a further £21, December statement arrives, balance £101, service charge £2, +charge for new book £3.75, balance now at £106.75.
Credit limit....wait for it  £107 leaving me a whopping 25p to spend :rotfl:

The Gazelle thinks you should tell them to shove their card where the sun don't shine. How can anyone plan their spending habits, when they don't know from one months end to the next, how much they have to spend?

This is what angers me with companies like this, they give you a Credit Limit in one hand, then they take it away as fast, Nationwide Building Scciety are famous for doing this, with their Credit Card, put simply, you cannot forward plan anything, as you don't know what stunt they will pull next, at least with the likes of Capital One and Lloyds Credit Card, you know where you are, Next should take note of their customers, after all the aged old saying still stand, the customer is always right.
