Avoiding Internet Fraud - Egg card
I've been looking for an alternative to my Egg card which will safeguard me from online transaction fraud. Verified by Visa, Clicksafe etc, but then I looked at the terms of the Egg card and it says that it will reimburse for any online fraud. Is this as good as it sounds. Does it mean that any fraudulent "card with owner…

Post Office CC - How stringent are they on credit rating?

I know this has been posted on this site before because it's where I got it from but I feel that it could be of interest to newcomers. We are on a DMP and therefore we do not have much of an entertainment budget so following the advice on here we applied for a tesco clubcard plus account (08457 10 40 10). I then pay my…

Credit Card Fraud
Having just been the victim of a credit card fraud, I'd like a card which doesn't allow the delivery address to be different from the billing address. If it's different I want the transaction to be cancelled or checked by the CC company. I can't believe the extra checking work they'd have to do would cost them more than…

What's the best card?
I currently have an MBNA card with a balance of £1700. Just started being charged about £20 interest a month so I was thinking I'd may as well transfer it to a 0% interest card which also offers 0% on purchases for a fairly long period (I make 1-2 small purchases a month). The Halifax one looks quite good but are there any…

Hi all, In happy position of clearing balance on HBOS card. On 8 October balance remaining was zero. On statement date in October, interest was added. This sum was then paid in late October. PO Card vs Nationwide
Hi I am going to the US over the Christmas period and was thinking about one of the above cards to avoid foreign currency fees. I have searched the forums but cannot open certain threads as they seem to be disabled. I won't be borrowing money on the card just using it to pay for things. Also no balance transfer required.…

Sentinel Gold Renewal
Hi, I have just received a renewal for my Sentinel Card Protection. It appears to be automatically upgraded to Sentinel 'Gold' with supposed better benefits but at extra cost. Credit cards after Balance Transfer paid off
What do you do with your credit cards once the balance transfer is paid off? I have about 9 cards now that have nothing on them. I don't want to do anything that will affect my credit rating so should I have the accounts closed or ask to have the limits reduced (as suggested by a customer advisor)? Thanks!!!

Abbey balance transfer
Abbey sent me an offer for their new card (to 'replace' the MBNA Abbey-branded one that I have and no longer use). They offer to pay me UKP75 for transferring at least UKP1000 to the card. The problem is that I don't have a sufficient balance to transfer. However, I have about UKP 350 on an Amazon branded Halifax card and…

Morgan Stanley / Goldfish cashback card
Are they definitely going to introduce a £20 annual fee for everyone? Does anyone know? My anniversary with them is up in early January and I hope they would at least give me some notice if they intend to charge a fee so that I can cancel the card.

New PO Credit Card
Dear Martin, Do you have some good advice on the pros and cons of the Post Office's new Credit Card? Above the rubric 'Apply to-day' and '15.9% APR', the publicity for the card claims: '0% charge on balance transfers for 10 months' - whilst simultaneously and paradoxically claiming (in very small print) that a '2.75%…
