Credit loading for large purchase?
Hi folks, I have a low limit on my credit card (£2000) with no balance. I am looking to purchase a new kitchen (£6000). Would I be able to load £4000 onto the card and pay using it? Will the original £2000 credit limit come into play even though there is a credit balance (£4000) on the card? Thank you

How will this affect my credit score?
I hope I've posted this on the right board.... I'm not strictly a newbie, I read more than I post! :D During my first marriage (which ended in divorce seven years ago now) I ended up in a hell of a lot of debt which led to 6 or 7 CCJ's. Once the marital home was sold all these debts were paid off. I knew my credit rating…

Esources subscription charge to CC. Can I reclaim it?
Just this morning I checked my email and to my horror there was a notification that www.esources.co.uk had taken £39.99 from my Credit card, via Paypal, for another seven months subscription. I had forgotten about it and had not cancelled the subscription but is there any way I can now reclaim this charge back via Payal,…

Unfair Over Limit Charge?
I have had an Amazon credit card (through Halifax) since the end of August, but havent received any statements so far. As a result, I got a call yesterday telling me my payment was overdue, and I was over my credit limit by £16. The late payment fee has been removed after protest, but the bank is still charging me £12 for…

Is this correct?
I wonder if anybody can help me with this. At the moment I am going through a outgoings-cutting exercise. I have a personal unsecured loan with HSBC which includes the usual unemployment/ilness premium. I decide that I have no real need for this, so asked for it to be cancelled. I was told that the loan would have to…

Am I liable for my mothers debt???
HELP! I've been trying to sort out my mother's credit card debt for about a year now. I finally got to the point of offering a percentage settlement to them all (17 of them!) which didn't amount to much each particularly the lesser ones. They are refusing the offer and suggesting she keeps up the £1 per month each that the…

Avoiding charges for using a credit card
Does anyone know how to avoid being charged for using a credit or debit card when buying over the internet? I recently booked a holiday and was staggered when a £9.95 fee was added simply because I'd paid for it in full using my credit card. In my opinion we have no alternative to pay this but it would be so nice is Martin…

Abbey 5% cashback card DDs
I've just received my conditional acceptance letter, etc. However, I noticed that the DD mandate didn't have anywhere to specify either the minimum payment or full amount. So I rang up. Evidently, as the card's interest rate is 0%, they don't have to give a choice and set up everyone on just the minimum payment. However,…

Using Egg Money card to avoid CC Surcharge
Hi guys/gals. I am looking to pay off my Holiday using a Credit Card then do a BT to the RBS 0% for 13 months offer (Which I have just received in the post!). That would be great if the Holiday company didn't want to charge me 2.5% Surcharge for using a CC! Now, here is how I think it can work: Use RBS card to do a BT from…

Despite being 0% on transfers for 13 months I've only managed to pay about £150 off in the last 6 months, this is…
