Self employment support scheme - maternity allowance
I'm self employed and as far as I can see I meet all the criteria for the self employment income support scheme. Like many people, my work dried up almost completely after the first week of March. HOWEVER, I am 38 weeks pregnant and was due to start receiving maternity allowance on the 6th April (£151 a week - i.e., just…

Furlough - everyone treated equally?
Hello, I was just wondering if anybody knew if there was any expectation that all staff (in a single company) being furloughed should be treated on the same terms? I’m hearing of employees in my company being offered 80%+20% top up and some just 80% Thanks.

I am a student member of an independent (but fairly large) and expensive local gym/ 'health club'. When I signed up for my years contract (October 2019) I was worried about not being in my town for the whole year. Money Moral Dilemma: Should I be shopping online during the coronavirus lockdown?
This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks... Since the government told people to stay at home, I've been shopping online — admittedly at times for non-essential items — which obviously helps the economy and keeps retailers in business. But would it be more helpful not to shop online, to reduce the risk of exposing…

Eurostar - refund if travelling from Ebbsfleet?
I'm booked to travel to and from Paris on Eurostar from Ebbsfleet in a few days' time. The email I've had from Eurostar says that I can travel from St Pancras instead, or that I can claim a voucher to rebook for a later date (neither of which I ideally want to do). I think that if my trains are actually cancelled then I…

Rights to Refunds For Cancelled Ski Lessons
Looking for any advice or links to gauge what is reasonable when it comes to accepting part-refunds/credit notes. We have been offered a 50% refund (maybe 70% now) or 110% credit note. Given the nature/location of the lessons, a credit note is quite restrictive as you have to go to the same company (possibly in the same…
