Can we apply for multiple HSBC Advance accounts?
Hi, I’ve applied to switch a little used current account in my sole name from Barclays to a HSBC Advance account with the £125 bonus and access to the 2.75% linked savings account. Does anyone know if I can switch a joint account that me and my wife have and also if she can apply for a single account as well? Remember that…

Where are you putting your money now banks & NS&I have cut their interest rates
As above, I will be closing my TSB accounts and just switched my Santander and need a new home for savings that I don't want to put in investments. The only one I can see would be the easy access at Yorks BS at 1%.

Marcus savings lowering interest rate to 0.7%
Just had email that states Marcus savings are lowering rates to 0.7% from 12th October. I have Just had a quick search and Coventry building society are paying 1.1% (max 2 penalty free withdrawals per year) Do you think this is worth the plunge or will they follow suit and lower their rates too. Thoughts please.

UK Bank account, non resident what are the options?
As the title suggests, I'm looking for a solution to a possible dilemma. I live in Japan and have a UK pension provider who will only pay out to a UK bank. I have that covered with an international bank account. My concern is, if I check out tomorrow, the company will only pay my loot to my beneficiary, aka wife, into a UK…

Arranged Overdraft Charges
I was wondering if someone could help me or give me some advice. I graduated from my undergraduate degree in September 2018 and my Santander student account switched to a graduate account and increased my interest-free overdraft to £2000 for two years. In September 2019 I started my postgraduate degree and I received an…

I have received an alert saying my balance is overdrawn & to put funds in by 815pm to avoid charges. However, my balance is actually £9.15, I have a payment due of £19.99 but that hasn't actually been processed, it's simply pending. So why have I received this message and why will Santander be charging me for not yet being…

Best current account while on maternity leave
Hi everyone, this is my 1st thread. I've been wanting to switch my current account for a while, and now seems like a good time as TSB are scrapping the Classic Account interest rate as of Dec. That said, I'm due to go on maternity leave next week so my earnings will drop significantly for the next 9 months (ish) - I will…

Can you open a current account and switch it straightaway ?
I've run out of accounts to switch to get a bonus for switching, so I was thinking of opening a simple account with a bank I've not used before and switching straightaway to one of the current offers to get the switching bonus. I wasn't planning to pay any money in the bank so the balance would be zero. Can you do this?

Said pensioner hasn't had a bank account for 20 years, and have been using the post office to get their pension up to now. Hi. My Bank has moved a large sum of money from a joint bank account to one of my personal accounts then several months later moved a much smaller amount back to the joint account, all without permission. TSB to reduce interest rate on classic plus account from 1.5% to 0% on 2 December
Just had an email from TSB confirming the rate on the classic plus current account is being reduced to 0% on 2 December. The email mentions the new spend and save account - see other post - whereby you can get £5 cashback for the first six months but only if you make 30 or more debit card payments a month as an alternative!

Natwest + RBS Rewards
Might be a stupid question, but can you have both a Natwest & an RBS reward account for the £4 monthly reward on both? I think you can only have one Reward account at each bank, and I know the £100 bonus is for one per customer for the entire group, but wasn't sure about the reward - I couldn't see it in the terms.

Is a TSB current account very easy for people with low credit score to get approved for?
4 to 5 years ago I went through a period of serious illness that affected my finances. I ended up with no less than 5 defaults on my credit file. All for I suppose relatively low amounts, but still. At present these defaults are still on my report and are approx 5 years old. I have no CCJs or bankruptcy and I've got a…
