Arranged Overdraft Charges

Options
I was wondering if someone could help me or give me some advice. I graduated from my undergraduate degree in September 2018 and my Santander student account switched to a graduate account and increased my interest-free overdraft to £2000 for two years. In September 2019 I started my postgraduate degree and I received an email in July 2020 that Santander would soon start to charge me interest. I rang for advice to tell them I was still a student and that I needed the interest-free overdraft. They told me that it wouldn’t be a problem and that they would be able to extend it as long as I took evidence into branch. I did this and they approved it. However, I have just checked my account to see they have charged me £40 interest pushing me closer to the limit. I am still in the process of completing my degree and I am unemployed. Can someone advise me on this please, I don’t know what to do.

  • Having checked your account, and seeing you have been charged interest that you think you shouldn't have been, did you not consider ringing Santander?
