First party fraud and compensation

On Saturday I sold a few games on gumtree and for some reason the post got removed so I couldn’t message buyers and 2 reported me for fraud even though I posted the items although I didn’t have any proof of postage!
NatWest blocked my account the same day the very same!! I was left without money for food and stuff for the kids since Saturday!!!!
First party fraud emailed me today to ask about the payments to me which I explained and was unhappy they blocked my account for fraud in literally a few hours after I took payment! They activated my account again and apologised after I told them what happened!
can I claim compensation for the 5 days I was left without money and an account to pay bills?

Chances are they'll have been following standard policy to freeze while investigating (as required by AML legislation, etc), so won't actually have done anything wrong as such, despite the inconvenience to you while this occurred. However, if you can make a clear case that you suffered quantifiable financial loss that they could reasonably be considered liable for then a complaint might trigger some sort of goodwill gesture, but it's certainly not an automatic right.
Protect yourself in future if you're going to continue to sell stuff online by using a separate account with a different bank....1 -
Don't use dodgy sites like gumtree2

You already probably had a fraud marker from the last time you sold on gumtree
