Bank account etc post Brexit
Hi all 1st time post. As I live and work abroad, within the EU, I was looking for any inside knowledge on just how institutions such as Barclays, RBS and other banks will manage bank accounts, credit cards and mortgages once Brexit is final on 31st December 2020. These banks don't have very much information on their…

Pay-in
Hi guys My daughter is looking to switch bank accounts and has seen the current HSBC offer. Unfortunately that requires a pay-in of £250 a month more than she takes home. Does the pay-in have to be her salary, or can I pay in £250 a month to make up the shortfall? Thanks Doug

Difficulty cashing US stimulus cheque?
I received a stimulus cheque in the post a couple of months ago, but have been worried about cashing it. I was wondering if anyone has run into problems with them? My current UK bank doesn't accept foreign cheques, so I would be looking at opening an account with a new bank. Just thought I'd ask first, in case it's a…

Hi, My husband and I are currently attempting the MSE money makeover and attempted to open a new joint current account in order to 'piggy bank' our money, putting our disposable income into that account so we can both easily draw from our disposable income and see how much we have. Unfortunately, Natwest declined our…

My dad is about to inherit quite a bit of money and will be looking to use it in the coming months to move house. He therefore doesn't want to lock it away for a fixed period of time. Lacks mental capacity?
Would somebody who has had a capacity assessment ruling they lack mental capacity over finances when mentally unwell but has capacity when well mean that to safeguard them they'll have appointee in place and the unwell period overwrites the well periods and this person can be a danger to themselves? Does this make sense?

Does opening a load of bank accounts affect your credit score?
I know it causes you trouble if you open a load of credit cards, but does it matter with bank accounts? I'd like to open a load and move cash around to get the freebies, seeing as how my savings account is literally 0.01% interest! But will it affect my credit score? I naively opened a load of credit cards when I was about…
