Has Coinstar gone under?

Hubby gag gifted me with about £80 in coins (50p or under). Cos we’ve just moved I googled Coinstar but the web page isn’t working. I remember there was a Coinstar in Morrisons Redcar but that’s now 40 minutes drive away. Will the Post Office take coins?

Web page is fine.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.1

I'm sure the Post Office or any bank will take the coins - you may want to sort and bag them up rather than just dumping random coins on the cashier though.1

I got caught out a couple of year ago. Sorted the coins into denomination, thinking the bank could weigh them, but they sent me home to bag them. Took ages.Emmia said:I'm sure the Post Office or any bank will take the coins - you may want to sort and bag them up rather than just dumping random coins on the cashier though.0 -
Worked great this morning. Nearest one is my local Sainsburys. YayShakin_Steve said:Web page is fine.0 -
If you bank with Metro Bank you can use the Magic Money Machine.
Edit: Apparently you don't need to be a customer to use them, and they don't retain any commission either.1 -
Some other bank branches have commission free coin counting machines for their customers as well - HSBC, NatWest and Barclays for instance1

I just whack them through the self-serve at my Tesco. Only person's time I'm wasting is my own that way and avoid having to bag them up properly. It also avoids any awkward confrontation if they decide to bring up the coinage act...Emmia said:I'm sure the Post Office or any bank will take the coins - you may want to sort and bag them up rather than just dumping random coins on the cashier though.

Then yours must be a very quiet Tesco. It's rare for there not to be a queue for the self-service checkouts at my local Tesco.PRAISETHESUN said:Only person's time I'm wasting is my own3 -

If you scroll down they have the option to select coin counting machine. Nearest one to me is 15 miles away, and that town has a Betty's cafe!0
