Difficulty cashing US stimulus cheque?
Develyan
I received a stimulus cheque in the post a couple of months ago, but have been worried about cashing it. I was wondering if anyone has run into problems with them? My current UK bank doesn't accept foreign cheques, so I would be looking at opening an account with a new bank. Just thought I'd ask first, in case it's a minefield:) Thanks.

Thanks, bradders1983. I've had a look at that thread and it is helpful. If not totally reassuring...

My partner got hers successfully cashed via her own bank (Halifax). There was a delay during lockdown when they said come back.
Wasn't a great rate of FX, but hey, free money

nyermen-- thanks for the info. I'm glad to hear about someone who has already done it, and clearly survived the process:)
