Bank Fraud/Scam - Help
In Dec 2019, I made an overseas payment to the value of over £10k through my Lloyds business bank for goods purchased. In January it came to my attention that it was a scam/fraud and this was raised immediately with my bank as a fraud/case who then investigated further. Lloyds then liased with the overseas bank (HSBC) who…

Contacting Barclays
I am one of three cheque signatories for a Barclays account for the management company for a small block of flats. Our only income is monthly standing orders. Our only outgo is cheques. None of our details have changed for many years. We have not received a statement since April. Our standing orders are still going through…

Lloyds app does not allow screenshot. Is this common?
Sometimes I like to take a screenshot of payment details because the history shows so very little after payment. On my laptop with online banking Print Screen is no problem. On my phone the Lloyds Android app does not allow it. Is there a trick around this? Is it common to other banks apps? Is it same on Apple?

Profit First friendly bank?
Hi, has anyone read and implemented Profit First by Mike Michalowicz? It requires you to have 5 current accounts within one bank so that you can separate out your Income, Profit, Owner's Compensation, Tax and Operating Expenses. Would love to hear if anyone has done this already and can recommend a bank that will easily…

Opodo actually refunded me - after the bank put through the chargeback
Hi all Like many people my longhaul flights for Easter 2020 holidays were cancelled by the airline due to Coronavirus. I'd booked through Opodo and spent many hours trying to get my refund - on hold, tweeting, finding email addresses for literally anyone at the company... I managed to speak to someone at opodo twice, both…

Hi all I have my caravan up for sale and the gentleman interested in buying it wants to pay me in cash - £6500. Would I be able to pay that much cash into my savings account? A good friend has a shop and will allow me use of a machine that can check for counterfeit notes so no worries on that front. thanks Gab

Money gone missing from Halifax bank account
Has anyone had any money go missing from a Halifax account upon renaming the account? For a long time, one of my online saver accounts had a balance of £200 (and some pence varying with interest), which I'd set aside for driving lessons/test for a friend's daughter. £200 has disappeared leaving just 50p, and the Halifax…

Data privacy on new current account for a child
I am opening a current account for my daughter who is about to go into year 7. She is 11 now so needs my (or my wife's) authorisation to open an account. I've started this process with a bricks and mortar UK bank (not where we bank as part of their Covid response has been to stop opening child accounts), and we visited…

Oldest Bank Account and Credit Ratings
I've quite a few current accounts open (due to chasing interest rates in the good times and scoring bonuses) but I'm gradually reducing them now their offerings are dropping. Currently my oldest current account (7.5 years) is with Santander (123 Lite downgraded from 123 when that deteriorated) and it's costing me money…

Unidentified bank credits every month
My mother banks with Natwest, and has noticed that she has been receiving 2 credits to her account every month (for the last few years) which she knows nothing about. One is for about £62, the other is about £27. They are usually deposited on the 24th of the month, and have only a 17-character alphanumeric reference code…

Metro Bank refer a friend offer
MSE, why has the Metro refer-a-friend thread been closed? Forumites have, AFAICS, complied fully with the MSE referral rules, and not posted any referral codes outside the official Referrers' forum. What is the problem, do you not want your forumites to post such offers? Do you not want forumites to be able to to discuss…

Does it matter where branch is on your account details?
I've had to put the address of my HSBC branch on a form. I had no idea what the address was but assumed it would be the branch nearest my house. Apparently not though, HSBC just told me it is somewhere in Coventry. I've never even been to Coventry. Does anyone know why they would chose it? And does it matter where my…
