Do switching bonus`s count towards your personal saving allowance
I assume payments like the £250 switching bonus (for a switch to a B current account) do not count as interest payments. Previous threads on this subject concur it is not an interest payment. Therefore it does not count towards the £1000 tax free personal savings allowance and is not included in tax returns. Am I correct?

Unsolicited Refund of Fees x 3??
Can someone shed some light on this. I called up my BS (Nationwide) to complain about a transaction charge they had levied that I deemed unfair and the lady agreed to refund etc, this may or may not be connected, however I have now noticed that one of my other accounts has been credited 3 times by £13 each time. The…

Advice on how to budget please?
Hi all I have been successfully tracking the ins and outs when it comes to our money for about 10 years, but although every year I attempt to budget there appear to be some things that I’m not good at budgeting for. I appreciate that the aim is to keep within a budget, and for most things we do, but it seems easier to keep…

Advice needed-Santander-not happy with all money in one place...
A few years ago we moved all money from ISA and First Direct to Santander 123 for the 3% offer. I don't like everything being in one place, plus interest now at 1.5%. I'd like to put the savings away again so I can't see them. I'd also like 3 separate accounts, 1 each for me and other half to save a little each week for…

Direct Debit Guarantee Refund
Just looking for some opinions, as I can't see anything in the past 5 years on a search. I had a direct debit taken in error, as the payment had already been made manually. This put me from credit into an unarranged overdraft smack bang in the middle of a mortgage application. The company acknowledged this and suggested…

Childrens current account with card
I have a financially precocious 7-year-old child. They receive £2 a week pocket money, plus money from birthday or other gifts. I look after the money for them, but they know at any time exactly how much money they currently have! It's never a huge amount, but at present is over £60. They have a junior savings account with…

Fraud?
I have no idea where this topic would really go so if it's in the incorrect place, please let me know :) I am writing this on behalf of my mother, but a few years ago some strange things started happening. We were being sent magazine subscriptions to the house, in her name, all charged to her account. Some were like…

Which bank is the worst at blocking cards?
NatWest seems to like blocking cards out of the blue for small, insignificant transactions to legitimate businesses. And they seem to only like telling you by sending you a letter to say your card has been blocked. Lloyds on the other hand seem to have no problem with cards being cloned and used hundreds of miles apart in…

Switching from Nationwide
Hello, I’ve been a life long member of Nationwide. But, becoming more money savvy in 2018, I realise it’s not doing much for me. I currently, have a flex direct account and don’t earn any interest or any incentives. I also hold a credit card with them at 17.9% interest. My questions are 2fold. 1. Are there bank accounts…
