First Direct Suspended Faster Payments
Lately I've been getting the following message when I try to send payments from First Direct in the afternoon / early evening: The first time this happened, it was for the first payment to a new recipient. I figured it was a security measure and waited until the next day. When the payment still hadn't gone that morning and…

Can Banks cancel an Overdraft FEE?, if in a 'minus' balance? Santander ??
With a Santander current account (basic current account, not the 123 account) If a series of daily fees (£6 per day of being in a negative payment with an unarranged overdraft) for the account being in a negative, which has added up to say 5 days 5 x £6 = £30 to pay of overdraft fees (on a day by day basis) This is the…

Switching with invisible DDs?
I just created 3 DDs via Tesco iSaver on an account I plan to switch to TSB. These are currently invisible online & scheduled to be pulled on 23rd*2 & 24th. If I call to arrange a switch Tomorrow, will they know these DDs are there? I plan to go into Lloyds Tomorrow to see if they can see any more than I can online.

Closed bank account
Hi. So I have closed my nationwide account 2 weeks ago, tonight I am not with it and stupidly sent £100 from my Lloyds account to my nationwide account (which is closed). I am now frantically looking on the Internet to what should happen. Does it bounce back? Is it somewhere between Lloyds and nationwide? What should I do?…

Studying Abroad Bank Account
Hi there, I am currently a student in the UK with a student account with Santander, which has been great for my time here but I am due to move to Tokyo, Japan towards the end of September and I am wondering which student account/current account would be best to have when it comes to transferring money from a UK account…

Speed up incentive gains.
Problem with doing two switches in tandem. It's the amount of DD you need. If you have a say £100 on a long interest free credit card, the minimum payment should count as a DD, and if there is any mistakes I am covered by the switching guarantee. Am I wrong? No expert but learning every day. Thanks in advance, Monty.

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. I'm a bar tender…

I need a card that I can use in Europe
Evening all, I've recently got myself a new job that requires me to travel around Europe for extended periods. Although this was my first tour, I've had to take money out of my UK account a couple of times and make a payment with my card, so I'm going to get charged for that and probably get a pretty naff exchange rate.…

First Direct 6% regular saver
I just had an interesting conversation today with someone at FD about this on the phone. My mother had a problem putting her monthly sum into this account. She had been doing it as a one off internal transfer from her 1st account. Normally, she would have a SO set up but she cancelled this so that she could re-jig her…

Hi guys, I'm new here but hope you can help. I was due to get paid on the 26th June. I've entered into an IVA so my Halifax account was frozen on the 25th.
