Santander online change overdraft error?

Anyone else use santander and have issues changing their overdraft facility online? I only have a £250 overdraft and i was trying to remove by entering £0 in it but online it gives me an error and asks me to call them. Ive tried reducing it in multiples of £50 etc but i get the same error.

It then refers me to experian as thats who they use to make their decision, surely they dont credit check to reduce the ammount :/

It is probably something as simple as they don't allow you to reduce or remove your overdraft online.

Halifax is the same, it is very frustrating.

Amazing though how they are happy if you wish to take an increase.

If there is no charge for having the overdraft why delete it?
It could come in handy one day - sod's law you want short term funds at a certain time in the future and they decline you to putting it back.
  • If it's any help, with lloyds you must call to reduce or remove your overdrafts, but you can increase them online rather than speaking to someone.

Jones is right though, we paid off an overdraft then asked them to remove it and then a couple of months later we needed one again (a lot smaller) the bank couldn't grant one as it was so close to us having paid off the last one, so keep it for emergencies if you're not being charged, but if you're worried you might fritter it away then get rid of it.

Just removed my HX overdraft online. No problem.

    You've cancelled your Planned Overdraft

We've removed your Planned Overdraft limit of £100.00 from your account.

Also Lloyds allow you to cancel as well online.

Yeah that's he sole reason I kept it. It's £1 a day if I go in to it like however that never happens.

I'll leave it for now just incase. Thanks for the replies :)
