Natwest and Halifax - Scottish 'Yes' Vote
Apologies for bringing this topic up. I know it is an emotive topic at the moment. However, I am seeking some reassurance. I am reasonably confident that my Natwest bank accounts are safe, because RBS has confirmed they will move their HQs to London in the event of a 'yes' vote. UK has also bailed out Natwest too. So it…

Standing Order from Santander
I currently make a manual Faster Payment from my S'der account into my N'castle Big Home Saver ISA. I know that N'castle are withdrawing the facility of being able to make payments by DD, but they will accept Standing Orders. Can anyone tell me if Standing Orders now go by FP, or do they revert to the 3 day BACS delay?

Lloyds - Confirm your details to keep account active
I have just been sent a letter saying that they are going to restrict access to one of my accounts and make it dormant. They give me two options: 1) Keep account open, go in in person with photographic ID etc, or 2) Close account - go in in person with photographic ID etc. There is 41p in the account. I have not used it…

Selling US dollars....
Hi, apologies if this question is on the wrong forum....My son has returned from the USA to take a job in the UK. He has emptied his US bank account, and has $10,700 in cash to change to sterling. I wondered if anyone has used one of the many forex bureaux that seem to offer much better rates than the Banks, but mean I…

Packaged account - claiming from 2006
Is this possible? My father was sold the HSBC bank account plus package, orriginally £9.95 but increasing to £12.95 until I told him to stop paying. Looking at the internet there are a few successful challenges to the mis-selling of packaged bank account products. He has never used any of the benefits. The only benefit he…

Account Switching
A couple of years ago, I approached First Direct to switch to them. I currently bank with Lloyds, and have pretty much run out of tolerance - and am sick and tired of how they treat me. I also have a personal loan with Lloyds and was told by First Direct that should I leave, then Lloyds could demand their loan back in…

Nationwide FlexDirect Question
Having just opened a Nationwide FlexDirect Current Account as a new Nationwide customer, I've noticed that there is nothing in the overdraft agreement letter they've sent confirming a 12 month fee-free overdraft. Do I understand a fee free overdraft to mean that if I borrow any of the arranged overdraft money, I will not…

Lloyds credit bureau data

My problem is that apparently I have something called credit bureau data on my lloyds account (although they offered me £5000 overdraft 6 months ago, which i don't use). I have nothing adverse…

What should my next steps be on my bank account
Hi, I am having a problem with my bank and don't know what to do. I got a Halifax student account with a £1300 overdraft when I was in a Welsh university approximately 2011. It didn't take long to max out the overdraft, and it's debatable whether or not I finished university (my tutors said if i did not complete an…

Switch back to accounts held in past
Hi, just wondered if you have had much success with switching back to an old bank you used to have. Eg. You have a Halifax reward. You switch away. Then you switch back. Have you ever got the incentive more than once? Best

re lloyds / tsb
Hi Guys, I thought lloyds and Tsb were seperate? BUT, yesterday, I opened 2 classic plus accounts online for OH, no problems, as she already has 3 Enhance a/cs. When I did my first online, successfully, awaiting activation code, I requested it to be paperless, as per instructions. I got an E-mail from" Lloyds" saying this…

Delayed Direct Debit
I bought a fireplace on 9th August. Paid a deposit with the rest to be paid on 12 months interest free credit (from Ikano Bank). I've had no letter yet advising me of the start date. I don't know if the supplier's not passed the details to the bank, or if the bank's just not got around to dealing with it. Either way I'm…

Anyone with Lloyds?
This is probably a really easy (and stupid) question... I keep being asked to upgrade to 'club lloyds' when I go on to online banking... Is this in addition to or instead of my classic silver account? Does anyone know? I have great benefits with the silver account which I would not want to lose, green flag, mobile phone…

Best Way To Open Club Lloyds Joint Account
My wife and I both have our own Club Lloyds account, and we both have our own left over Classic Vantage accounts, which we've been steadily emptying since the rate has dropped. We've max'd out on other banks' interest bearing current accounts, so one option is to open a joint Club Lloyds account in addition to our…
