RBS Switching Branch back to England

Back in 2010 under the treat of Santander I moved my RBS account from England to Scotland.
I have today started arrangements to move my RBS account out of Scotland and back to England. No one is going to nationalize my money.

You appear to be easily panicked. There was really no reason for moving away from Santander, as they are as safe up to £85K as any other UK Bank is. You would also have been able to earn quite a bit of interest and cashback over the years in the Santander 123.
There is also no reason to pull money out of Scotland right now. Firstly, no decision has as yet been made. Secondly, even if the Yes campaign win, nothing would change for at least a year or two. RBS and the other scottish banks would most likely move the accounts of rUK people to somewhere in England, anyway. Until such time, and until independence day, the FSA/PRA are still in charge of the licensing and authorising, and the FSCS still applies. Not even the nastiest nationalisation ideas can change anything about that.
Having said all this, none of my money will be held in a foreign country as I have lived through the icelandic collapse and I will never again risk anything similar. But there's no rush yet.
I hope you have managed to put your money somewhere where you get more interest than with RBS.0 -
Surely it was nationalised in effect when the Government bailed them out?0

RBS English Branches are in the process of changing to Williams and Glynn. We were with W&G before RBS. Back in 2010 there was no way I was going to become a customer of Santander, I just didn't like them.0
