Fastest donor account supplier?

Hi,

I've got a few accounts already for various purposes, but i need a donor account. I just wondered where offered the quickest easiest creation of donor accounts online where i've already got an account. I can go from TSB, santander, hsbc, barclays, halifax, FD, tesco.

Thanks,

No recent experience of your others, but as I recall TSB was very quick to get set up earlier this year...even as a new customer. However, whether you'd want to (ab)use such a key account provider is another matter!

A couple of hours ago i started opening an account on a couple of the institutions i mentioned above and wow, i thought some were bad until i got on to the latter!

I reckon i'll just go TSB or santander tomorrow. They are practically like starting from fresh. Like you say about tsb, for the 2nd account you need to be logged out anyway, and we are still to set up our joint accounts. So i reckon that leaves santander.

Have people had bad experiences of (ab)using key account providers?

So which account provider in your description is "the latter"?

    What is your point?
Are you suggesting OP (ab)uses one of the lesser known banks?

No. I'm suggesting if OP (and partner) want to eventually obtain 6 x TSB accounts as a home for £12K of their savings making 5% AER, then it's perhaps best not to open and then immediately switch away a current account with them.

Likewise, I have 4 Halifax Reward accounts (generating £240 a year, for the last 5 years) and so would never use them for a quick donor account...for fear of them (ie a 'person') looking into my affairs too closely!
  • I didn't know you could have more than 1 Halifax reward generating cash!

I had a second for a while to get the switch £100, but transfered it straight to another.

You were originally allowed three reward accounts. YB managed to get a fourth under the radar.
