Credit report question
Hello I used to bank with the Halifax and had a current account with them. It's a standard current account with no monthly fee. As far as I know I have £1 in the account and therefore don't owe anything on it. I've just checked my credit report and it seems to think I've been six payments late on this account since…

Stupid ISA Question
Forgive this really stupid ISA question. Lets say the ISA cash limit is £5k. Does this mean that this year I can put away £5k this year, and keep it in an ISA forever - but only that one single £5k? Next year I can keep the same ISA, or I can switch to a new provider - but I can't have both. Or does it mean I can put £5k…

Hidden Bank Charges
I'm opening a business bank account and have been warned about hidden or unreasonable charges. Examples I've been given are charges for going over my overdraft and for making foreign payments. Are there any others I should know about?

Reason for DD's on Santander 123 Account ?
Am I right in saying that a Santander 123 account can be operated as a fee-paying account WITHOUT the two DD's on it - the DD's only being required to be eligible for cashback? Situation is that OH has opened a 123 account to be eligible for the 123 Exclusive ISA (...also now opened) All eligible bills are paid from, and…

Cheque books with both. Yesterday I wrote a cheque from the business account and without thinking passed over the cheque guarantee card for my…

Santander took charges from pending cheque?
Hi, I deposited a cheque for £720 on Friday the 15th of march at 10am. I was told it the money would show up on my account but I would have to wait 4 days for the cheque to clear. I'm in financial difficulty at the moment, I am relying on the cheque to pay off debts and loans which I currently owe to get me back on the…

Any Grace Period with Overdrawn Accounts
So my account has gone overdrawn, which is fair enough, but it was due to an Internal Transfer that was put into the Account by mistake and then taken out the following day - I had taken the money out the minute I saw it in my account and didn't expect the payee (my Council) to realise their mistake. Truth be told, I…

Accidental 0% Student bank overdraft 10 years after graduating
Hi. Need some advice from those in the know. I graduated around 10 years ago from a masters degree as a mature student. I had an interest free overdraft facility of £1800. Best suitable Joint bank account?
Basically what the title says, me and oh are just about to move into our first place (renting) so we decided the best and suitable way to pay all bills and rent was from a joint bank account. The issue we have is what and who can offer and suit us best? We are only looking at putting around £800 into it monthly but this is…

Creating new Natwest with ILR Biometric
Natwest Truro says they have problem making a new account for me. I took my Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) Biometric card with all my credentials. As a safe side I also took my Burmese passport. The Tier 1 visa in the passport is "expired" and has been "replaced" by my permanent residence (ILR) card. However, they said…
