Car insurance no claim accident

Options
I had a small bump with an 12 year old mondeo in a car park today initially she claimed was no new damage the bumper looked like it had its fair tear of knock and bumps, although she rang me when she got home said there was a small scratch and wants to have it repaired! after speaking to people at work and being convinced she was trying to pull a fast one I contacted insurance for "advice".

They logged it all and told me for next 3 years will have to declare this incident and will effect my premiums even if I don't claim!!
Since this call to insurance I have spoken to lady who had been reasonable and bed to garage if my choice who agree I caused damage and will only cost £100 to repair.

I know it seems likes long shot but I was asked no security question dob etc by car insurance didn't even have policy number just name address and reg.
I want to know if I can deny all knowledge of call and try to claim was a ex friend or someone with a vendetta, really begrudge paying for a claim they haven't paid out for!!
What are possible repocussions of this?? Will they investigate? It it fraud??
Thanks

They will most likely have a recording of the call, so could compare other phone calls of you against this one. Unlikely, but they could do.

It's also unlikely that they'll increase your premium until renewal.

At renewal, you will have to report it as otherwise you are committing fraud and your insurance can be invalidated.

Insurance isn't about what they've paid out, it's about risk, and if you've caused damage to another car, then your risk factor goes up.

It's quite possible that in their experience one no-claim accident may be followed by other claims in the ensuing months. Insurance companies base premiums on the likelihood of a claim ans spend vast amounts of money on actuaries that assess this likelihood.

By backtracking and lying to them, you risk having your insurance cancelled and all future applications denied. Taken to extreme they could make it difficult for you to get any credit/bank accounts in the future as you'll have a history of fraudulent behaviour.

It's possible, I can't say how likely, that they would report you to the police for consideration of prosecution for fraud.

Who was at fault for the accident?

If the other party, then theoretically you can claim the extra cost of your insurance now you have a claim. You'd need to do dummy quotes with and without declaring the incident to see what the difference is, then multiply by, say 3 or 5 years which is typically how long insurers ask, and ask the party at fault (or their insurer) to pay up.
