I don't believe it! My wife has recentlly received a letter from HBOS regarding her deceased father and an account he had with them. The account has less then £2K in it yet HBOS, we think, are saying "there is a fee of £25 for a transfer to an account held outwith the Halifax bank of Scotland." Are we interpreting this…

Finding A&L Online Statement History
I am trying to find details of a transaction that took place a coulpe of years ago, I can't find the paper statement so I looked at my online history. Unfortunately it only goes back as far as April 2010. Is there any way of finding earlier transactions? Or is it the result of the Santander takeover?

Is it Alliance & Leciester or is it me?
I've had what I think is a very bad experience with my A&L account over the past year with a number of times I have gone over my agreed overdraft on payday but my salary has covered the overspend on the same day so I thought that was OK. Some other times I've gone over by about under £50 in the middle of the month but each…

I have had a basic account with Lloyds for about 3 years or so (opened after a couple of years being a student) but after some terrible service from them I moved to Barclays who gave me a proper grown ups account about 2 years ago. Over the last year or so I've had a lot of financial trouble due to unemployment and rather…

I applied for a e-savings account with Natwest quite a few weeks ago, now I used to bank with Natwest and still have my log in details for internet banking. Signed up for a Halifax Reward account yesterday and... :)
They gave me a £50 bonus for free, right at the end of the process. The staff member just said 'We have a bit of money left in the kitty'. I didn't ask about it or even know they had this promotion. So a very welcome surprise! Anyone else got this? Signing up was fairly painless too. Nice staff! Just thought I'd share,…

Nationwide: will these cheques now bounce?

But there was also another payment in the works - £1000 transferred out with 'today's' date. This put me £1000 beyond my agreed overdraft. So I have just returned…
