stupid santandar

Options
Firstly i want to apologise if this is in the wrong place.

I am wondering if anyone has had issues with santandar? I closed my lloyds tsb account in 2009 after i could no longer afford to keep up with my loan payments and lloyds taking the money out of my account leaving me with huge bank charges.

I ended up switching to an alliance and leicester account and even got £100 free for using there switching service. I have been realy happy with this account as i found managing it online brilliant, never got OD or incurred any charges until now.....

Rewind back to 2 months ago just after they switch to santandar. One day i went to log onto my online account to check if a direct debit had gone out and to my surprise i apparently typed my password incorrectly! ( i was pretty sure i didn't). Anyway i tried again this time looking carefuly at the screen and keyboard making sure all numbers went in properly and yet again i got the same message. This time i knew i had definatley typed in the correct password, so off i go again and still nothing. Tried again and i got a message to say i had failed to type my password in correctly 3 times therfore my online account was temporarily suspended and i had to call CS. Phoned CS and guess what they asked for my password, told it them they said it was incorrect and they coudlnt do anything until i gave them the right one.

I am still not back on online banking and i had my bank statement this week stating £43 in charges will be taken out of my account on the 30th of this month. what had happened was i had gone on a online bingo site and deposited £10 however there was no money in my account, this has realy peed me off to be honest because when it was A&L if there was no money in my account they wouldnt let me deposit simple as. Seems some sneeky tricks have began here.

I live in the middle of nowhere, no shops, no banks and i cant drive so i have to guess how much is in my bank. I found online banking brilliant but now im getting in the crap with this account.

Has anyone else had problems since the change? Im tempted to switch accounts but with no ID and a crap credit rating im not going to have much luck:mad:

Sorry for the long post.

You clearly haven't read many posts on this forum. "Problems with Santander" do appear to be par for the course.

My only suggestion is that if you can, jump now and find a 'real' bank who will take you on. Co-op cashminder, Natwest Step and Halifax Easycash accounts all come to mind.
