First direct vs Citibank? (in terms of current account)
Hi all, I currently use Lloyds TSB as my main current account. No gripes with it but nothing that gives me a strong desire to stay (we're plodding along) so I'm considering changing. In the next few months I'm likely to need an overdraft (preferably interest free) so I'd considered Santander (either with the £1000…

On Santander current accounts by when do sufficient funds (or overdraft) have to be in an account in order for a direct debit to be honoured- 3.30pm on the day in question, 11.59pm the previous day or...? I am not asking for myself! A relative has been daft enough to open an account with them.

Don't let Santander transfer your DDs / SOs
Why - because when you apply for a current account over the internet they immediately start transferring your DDs / SOs to them and PAYING THEM. It however takes 2 weeks for them to issue an account number so that you can tell your payroll department where to pay money in future Result - I've already blown the £1000…
