Credit Expert keep taking money

Sorry if this is in the wrong cat if it is, then please put it in the right one, but please tell me where i cannot see one.

I just noticed on my bank statement that these cow boys have been takeing payments, since march, so i phoned them last tuesday to be told, i will get a call back after they have listened, too the call i made when i cancleled too see if i actually said i wanted close my account, which i did because i went through too cancelations, anyways they have not rung back, so i phoned them today, to be told i will 100% get a call back by the end of the day ( today ) 6pm when they close, i have not recieved a call.

When i ring them back tomorrow what shall i say? and who can i report them too? its theft in my eyes.

Debit card transaction I presume? If you cancelled the product and were told no further charges would be taken, dispute it with your bank. If it was a Visa debit card, then you have the possibility of your bank doing a chargeback.

I assume you got the "free credit check" and signed up to their subscription and forgot to cancel your 14 day free period? If so, it's not theft, you just forgot to cancel!
  • I did cancel after 2 months because i forgot, so i rung up and cancelled, but they are still taking money when i closed my account in march.

No disrespect but, I always fail to understand how anybody can not notice monies been deducted month after month from their bank account

How often do people check their bank accounts?

  • I got their in the end, i demanded i wanted it sorting without them phoning me back, and told them the call is been recorded at my end, and asked for all the names of the people i have spoke too, and the managers name who said he was going to call me, so they said they will transfer the full amount of cash they have taken in the next 3-5 days.

You can't need the cash that much as you didn't notice it has been taken since March !!

Pleased you got it back (well the promise of it back, anyway !) - don't bother reporting them but just remember that next time DON'T FORGET TO CANCEL !!

All these companies work on the idea that we are all lazy or forgetful to make money - just a legal scam really !

    Well done.
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

If you are supposed to cancel a subscription within two weeks, but you only do it two months later, you have no grounds to ask for your money back You did consent to the annual(?) subscription (“unless cancelled within two weeks“).

If the company refunds you the money, that is their good will, you have no right to it as you failed to stick to your part of the agreement and to cancel within the agreed period.

You seem to be very lethargic in money matters. :D:D:D

As far is I'm aware, the monthly subscription is the default option when the trial runs out. At least that's what I was told. This can be cancelled at any time, which the OP did several months ago, but apparently it wasn't actioned.
