Transferring money from UK account to foreign account
Hi all, I have moved to China for a year and was wondering what the best way of transferring money from my UK bank to my Chinese bank would be? A SWIFT transaction has a set charge with my bank, which isn't too bad but if I can avoid a charge or lower it, I'd want to do that. Thanks :)

International Cheques into my Account
I have a Barclays Additions account for daily use. Each month, I receive a cheque drawn on a provincial government from Canada (child support enforcement) in the same amount, which I deposit into my same account. Some months, it is done on negotiation - ie, payment is in my account the following day in GBP, but every other…

Moving abroad
Hi I'm moving to mainland Europe and have a balance on my Lloydstsb credit card to which I will make normal monthly repayments. I am concerned that if I notify my bank that I am moving abroad that they will take the credit card balance from my bank account which would make me considerably overdrawn. Does anyone know if…

Can anyone help me understand why the Nationwide will not cancel my cheque? On August 30th 2010 I purcased a 3 & 2 Seater sofas from a company called Exclusive Leather Sofas of Cannock for £698 after I saw their advert for sale. Best bank account while I reduce my £2000 overdraft
Hello, I currently have an account with RBS which has a £2000 overdraft. I graduated just over 3 years ago, so until now I haven't paid much interest on this. I'm now being charged upwards of £15 a month. I've worked out a debt plan to clear the overdraft, but I'm wondering if there is any other option with another bank to…

Unauthorised direct debit on account
I just logged into my HSBC current account to do my daily check. Looked at the Standing Order and Direct Debits. Two new ones have appeared, one is a standing order to my new letting agents/landlord which I authorised. The other is a direct debit to "PET INSURANCE". I have no pet insurance and have nothing to do with a…

OK, basically I just got a NatWest account with a DC. Activated it as soon as it got here so I could use it when my money was paid in this morning. Bank put me in overdraft
Ok. So this has probably been asked before, sorry if so. So my bank was £348 overdrawn, which is within my £350 OD limit. The bank (Santander) took £5 Authorised OD charge putting me overdrawn, now they have started adding £15 fees to it because i am no longer in my authorised overdraft. I tried explaining on the phone…

Under 18 overdraft
I'll try to briefly explain my situation: I'm 17, bank with (a current account) Nationwide and (savings acct) NatWest. For buying stuff on the internet and shops, I have to use my NatWest account Visa as Nationwide won't give me a debit card. So - I simply transfer what money I need from Nationwide to NatWest and then…

I changed my bank to prevent them offsetting my accounts but...
Just a quick question; I won't get too far into the situation. (I am currently in the middle of disputing this with the bank and other joint account holder.) I was advised…
