Cancelling a Direct Debit
I will need to cancel a DD in a few weeks. On my online banking the DD is setup on there, and there is an option to delete it. If i do this, is that the same as going into the bank and asking them to do it? Will it still cancel the DD if i do it online? Cheers

Sorting out overdrafts
I have two overdrafts, and while I don't pay much in the way of interest on them, I would like to sort it out, as it seems that it'd be more sensible to have an overdraft just in case, rather than depending on it (which I do). The problem is of course that if I have money available I will withdraw/spend it. So I figure…

1st Bank Acc for 12yr old. Do Government/Banks give money/incentive to start off ?
Hi all Sorry that this post is so vague but I seem to remember Gordon Brown mentioning something in the last few years about a gift/incentive etc for 'Young' people who open Bank accounts for the first time. Advice on how to get by until April.
I was made redundant in January when Halifax sold off it's Estate Agents. I've managed to find part-time work for now so I have an income. I'm only working 18.5 hours now (I was working 30hrs). My problem is my incomings now for Feb/March are considerably lower than they were and my Tax Credits won't increase until April…

Hi there, My 73 year old father was recently pick pocketed on the bus. Wallet stolen with bank cards, drivers license, and cash. The nasty folk that did this then managed to use a money/send cash abroad shop to withdraw close to £600. They did this in 3 transactions at the same place and needed my dad's pin to do it. My…

Right at the end I get told "Sorry, the application process is unavailable due to routine maintenance". Sorry, but couldn't you have told me that AT THE START!!!
