Refunds to Visa Debit Card

Hi, Need a little advice in regards to a refund I should have received back onto my Visa Debit card. Essentially I was buying some items and the guy behind the counter put in the wrong amount - essentially added an extra zero. I never noticed until I checked the receipt and I immediately told them, but the guy got his manager and she refunded the money back onto my card minus what I was actually paying for. All sorted me thinks. However, I've just got my internet installed at my new place and after checking my online bank statements I can see no sign of this refund going back into my account. However, I do see the original transaction! As such I'm a tad worried that this will ever appear back, but I want to double check that this may be delayed and may take 28 days etc but if not then I obviously want to get onto the retailer straight away as with an extra zero I'm not letting this get away! I admit I was a muppet for not checking the amount before entering my pin, and it won't happen again, but surely when they issue back a refund it should appear there instantly as it was taken from my account in such a way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated to get my money back. Thanks, Scho

When did you buy the stuff? I've had similar things happen and the refund usually takes a few more days than the debit (surprise, surprise!). Do you still have the receipts?

I would give them a week then call.

The refund can take between 5 and 7 working days to appear back in your account. The amount will be taken instantly from the refunders account but will take time to be processed to yours.

It was 25th Jan so over a couple of weeks now. Plenty of time I'd have thought but you never know. The refund happened straight after and via their machine using chip and pin so didn't envision any issues.

I believe I have the receipts but will have to check; I assume it makes it a hell of a lot harder if I can't find them though?

Found the root of the problem; it's a muppet called Scho!

List of transactions are not sorted by time just date, thus the refund for some reason appears miles away from the initial charge and due to me moving into a new place that day there were quite a few purchases etc!

Apologies, thanks for the help though!
