Anonymity of cash - justified?
Was wondering what you guys thought on this. Reading newspaper reports and general surveys on the subject, it seems one of the main reasons people are reluctant to switch over to cards completely is anonymity - quite simply, they're afraid of being on some big database. Now I know that cash is obviously the preferred (and…

Are current accounts and savings account treated separate with same bank?
Casual question. Nothing serious. Does the bank treat savings account and current account as separate entities? Or as a whole. There is no certain particular answer that I am after. Just your own personal opinion. Nor am I after particular advice. I look forward to the replies. If any.

HSBC Plus now HSBC Advance
Effective today, the HSBC Plus bank account has been renamed HSBC Advance. Most of the account features appear the same, though I think there may also be one or two new ones - existing HSBC Plus customers will be automatically migrated to HSBC Advance. It appears to be a global effort by HSBC to try and standardise their…

Barclays Turnover up 70% - no return on my savings why?
I see in the press that Barclays turnover is up 70% in the past year to around £10bn. I also understand that this increase is largely due to its investment banking arm.
